Her parents were Martin Knawa, born in Austria, and Elizabeth Hill, born in Switzerland. 1. Charles Bonawitz Jr., died age 18 months. 2. Frederick Wm Bonawitz, (12/25/1888- 1960) m. Katharine Webster Haight, in 1918. Frederick was a Principal in a High School at Pawling. Katharine was living recently at Montrose, New York. 1. Elizabeth Bonawitz, m. Dr. Thomas Ryan, 1. Dorothy Bonawitz. She is a Principal in a High School on Long Island. She never married. 4. George Bonawitz, ( / /1868- / /1946) m. Margaret Mary Bowen, January 15, 1890 in Brooklyn. George was a commercial artist and illustrator in Brooklyn. 1. George Owen Bonawit, born February 28, 1891. m. Janice Bowen, George did stained glass work in churches and in many public buildings around the country. He also did professional photography for the Government. 1. Peggy Bonawit, born about 1924. m. Foster Newman, They sold tropical fish. Peggy still has the store in East Patterson, N. J. 1. Freda Newman. She is at Florida State University at Tallahassee, studying Oceanography. 2. George Owen Bonawit Jr., born about 1930. m. He lives in California.
