James Franks Bonewitz, (8/20/1821-3/25/1891) 
m. Margaret Ann Montgomery, Oct. 17, 1844 (12/18/1825-6/6/1895)
They lived in Ohio until after the birth of their second child, 
then moved to Rock Creek Twp, Huntington County, Indiana where 
they farmed. Sometime after 1870 they moved to the Dorrance, 
Kansas area. They are buried near there at Wilson. Bible records 
spell the name Bonewits, but most descendants spell it Bonnewitz. 
Descendants live generally in California, Kansas and Missouri. 
Mrs. Arthur Bonnewitz, of Raytown, Missouri has recently printed a 
more extensive record of the family. (see Chapter 21, Part 2, Page 6)

   m. 1st Elizabeth Shultz, 
   m. 2nd Florence Williams, 
2. Eliza Ann Bonewitz, (7/24/1846-5/16/1916) Buried Wilson, Kansas.
   m. 1st       Allen, had two children,  
   m. 2nd Jacob Goodhart. 
3. Silas Wright Bonewitz, (1/14/1848-2/2/1867) 
4. Melissa Ann Bonewitz, (3/23/1850-3/7/1924)
   m. Albert Wikle, (1847-1922) lived near Dorrance. Three children. 
5. Lawaon Leviticus Bonnawitz, (1/14/1852-11/6/1920) Buried Topeka.
   m. Hannah Isabel Waterman, (1859-1920) 
6. William Orten Bonewitz, (9/6/1853- thought to have died young. 
7. James Bonewitz, (5/12/1855-9/24/1855) 
8. Emaline Bonewitz, (10/20/1856-
   m. Levi Jasper Sprinkle. They had five children.
9. Henry Lawrence Bonewitz, (3/24/1859-8/19/1859)
10. Riley Bonnewitz, (9/19/1861-12/23/1925)  Lived Kansas City, Kansas.
   m. 1st Ella Munson, had two children,   
   m. 2nd Anna,
11. Lafayette Seymour Bonnewitz, (12/16/1862-4/18/1935) 
   m. Wilhemina Munson, (1865-1922)   He is buried at Alhambra, Calif. 
12. Olive Bonewitz, (2/5/1864-6/9/1947)  Died at Wilson, Kansas.
   m. Isaac W. Tobin, (1848-1930)
13. Oscar Bonewitz, (3/4/1865-8/17/1865)
14. Luenza Bonewitz, a twin (1/14/1866-6/14/1953) lived Kansas City, Mo.
   m. William Myer, (1859-1938)        No children. 
15. Clemenza Bonewitz, a twin (1/14/1866-   Died in Louisiana.

Joseph, Lawaon, Riley and Lafayette had male lines of decent.
