Daniel Bonawitz, (4/11/1831-5/14/1864) Died at Spottsylvania Ct. House. 
m. Sarah Ann Greager, July 26, 1851 (1836- after 1896) 
   Daniel was a miner at Donaldson in the 1860 census. He served in 
   Co G of the 6th Regt. Inf. from April to August in 1861. He and his 
   brother John enrolled in Co B 96th Regt. Inf. in September 1861. 
   Daniel enrolled as a Corporal and became Sergeant in 1862. He was 
   wounded and captured during the Battle of Spottsylvania Court House 
   and died while a prisoner. Records of his marriage and family were 
   in his war records. Sarah Ann kept the children together and 
   remarried to Nathan Dinger in 1870. Several children were born to 
   them at Donaldson. Of 15 Bonawitz and Bonewitz men who served in 
   the Civil War, Daniel was the only one to be fatally injured.

            A daughter, Edith Matz, married Joseph Dunbar.
            She lives at Reading. 
         6. Harold Matz, died at age 18.
         7. Another child died young. 
   2. Arthur Peter Bonawitz, (5/22/1857
      m. Cecelia, 
      In the 1880 census. Peter Bonawitz, 22, was in Frailey 
      Township with his wife Cecelia, 22, Sadie 4, and Arthur 2. 
      No further information, except it is believed there was 
      one more ohild born after 1880.
