 John Bonawitz, (1829- died after 1880) 
 m. Rebecca,           (1832-4/17/1897)
    John was listed as a driver in Tremont Twp in the 1850 census 
    and was a miner in 1860 and thereafter. He served in the Militia 
    for a short time in 1863. The family moved to Porter Twp after 1870. 
 1. James M. Bonawitz, born 1849,  married Mary Mack. They lived near Tremont.
 2. Emma L. Bonawitz,  born 1850. Not in the 1870 census. 
 3. Elizabeth A. or Sarah A. Bonawitz,  born 1853. At home in 1870. 
 4. Charles H. Bonawitz, born 1855, married Sarah Matilda --———.
    They lived at Pine Grove.
 5. Christina Bonawitz,  born 1857. At home In 1870. 
 6. John Bonawitz, born 1859. At home in 1870. 
 7. Annie R. Bonawitz, born 1861. At home in 1880. 
 8. Magdalena Bonawitz, born 1863. With Miller family in 1880. 
 9. George Frank Bonawitz,  born 1865,  married Ella Long.
    They lived at Pottsville.
10. William L. Bonawitz, born 1868. Hot in 1880 census.

    It appears that one of the older girls married an Aunapach, 
    since the 1880 census listed John Aunapach 9, and Theresa Aunapach 
    age 6, both grandchildren, living with John and Rebecca Bonawitz.  

    James, Charles and Frank had male lines of descent.
