Frederick A. Bonawitz, (2/15/1832-         buried at Pine Grove 
m. Mary Nagle, December 30,  1856.
They lived at Pottsville where Frederick was a blacksmith. He 
was a 1st Sergeant in Co. D, 6th Regt. Int. for three months 
in 1861. Mary remarried to Nathan Houser, had a son Benjamin. 
    1. Calvin Jacob Bonawitz, (12/3/18  -8/16/1938) 
       m. Alice L. Heffner,   (6/  /1858-8/16/1938) 
       Calvin and his brother Howell belonged to the Sons of the 
       American Revolution. Alice was a daughter of William 
       Heffner and his wife Christiana Fisher. 
          1. Vera May Bonawitz, born May 3, 1889. 
             m. Howard G. Shenfelder, (7/27/1887-10/27/1954) 
             Vera lives at Reading. Howard was a son of 
             Peter Shenfelder and his wife Mary Getz of Reading. 
             1. Eleanor Shenfelder, born August 12, 1910, Reading.
                m. Elmer K. Reed. They live at Reading. 
             2. Robert H. Shenfelder, born September 15, 1911.
             3. Christine B. Shenfelder, born April 14, 1913. 
          2. Alice Christine Bonawitz, born September 13, 1890.
             Alice did not marry. She lives at Boston, Massachusetts
    2. Howell W. Bonawitz, (3/18/1858-5/14/1921) Buried at Reading. 
       m. Ruth Ann Turner, December 1, 1881 (9/29/1858-1/20/1927) 
       They lived at Reading. Ruth was a daughter of Samuel Turner and
       his wife Catherine Myers.
       1. Helen Bonawitz, (6/23/1882-1/19/1938) 
          m. Claude Glase,  
       2. Calvin F. Bonawitz, (9/4/1883-4/16/1950) bur. Reading 
          m. Evelyn Schock, at South Bend, Indiana. No children. 
	  Calvin was a Captain in W W I, an opera singer and 
	  Dean of Music at Georgetown College. 
       3. Lyle Bonawitz, (11/27/1884-8/4/1967) Lyle did not marry. 
          She lived at Reading.
       4. Mary Bonawitz, (2/12/1888-10/  /1962) Buried Mt. Pocono. ?             
          m. Leander Fanseen. lived Mt. Pocono, Pa. No children. 
       5. Catherine A. Bonawitz, born October 23, 1897. 
          Catherine did not marry. She lives in Reading.
